It should come as no shock to any of you that I love dystopian fiction! So when I saw this giveaway hop hosted by My Shelf Confessions and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer I signed up. What better way to start the month of Thanksgiving than by offering up for grabs a copy of one of my favorite dystopians?!
Back in June of this year I received an email from the publisher of this book asking if I would be willing to review it as a part of a blog tour. Being new to the blogosphere and just excited to receive the offer I accepted without much thought on the book. Well I’m here to tell you that The Legacy blew me away. If you loved The Hunger Games and Divergent, then I believe you will love this series! It’s written more for the adult crowd, in fact I’d classify it as New Adult (minus the erotica) and it is a little darker than the young adult dystopians you may be used to. If you are looking for a great read, get it now!!!!
I received this book via the publisher, . This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Series: The Legacy Trilogy #1
Published by Self Publish on 2013-03-05
Length: 366 pages
Reviewing eARC Rating:

One man obsessed with power.
One woman prepared to sacrifice everything to stop him.
One war that changed the world.Eric Dane has segregated the wealth and resources that remain, giving a select few the highest chance of survival and leaving the rest to starve!
World War 3 lasted twelve days and almost eradicated the human species. Growing up in post nuclear America, Rebecca Davis remained blissfully ignorant of the despotic leadership that had seized what was previously the most powerful nation in the world. When the truth is revealed and Rebecca discovers that everything she has been taught is a lie, she is determined to fight for the life that she has not been allowed to live.
In order to do this, Rebecca has to cross the boundary fences and venture out of the safety of the New United States, into the barren wastelands. It is there that she finds allies she never dreamed existed.
In Rebecca, the Resistance has finally found the ultimate weapon.
“You were given this life Rebecca, because you alone are strong enough to live it.”
An action-packed, adrenalin inducing thrill ride that will have you riveted until long after you have turned the last page.

I’d have to say Gabrielle Zevin’s Birthright books. I’ve only read the first two and need to grab the final one. They’re the first dystopian stories I really got into 🙂
I’ve not read those. I’ll have to check them out 🙂
The clockwork orange is my fav.
I have so many I love that I could not pick just one. I love Ann Aguirre, Ilsa J. Bick, Jonathan Maberry, Moira Young, Veronica Roth…so so many more, too!
I haven’t read Ann Aguirre yet. Reviews have been so scattered that I’ve been hesitant.
My favorite dystopian is Wool by Hugh Howey. (My real name is Judy Schechter).
Thanks Judy! I havent read that one. Adding it to my on going list 😀
My favorite is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
Love The Hunger Games!!!! Can’t wait for the movie later this month 🙂
The Hunger Games is my favorite dystopian.
If I had to pick an all-time favorite it would be that one! But I love them all 😀
I don’t have one favorite, but I did really enjoy The Hunger Games and Divergent series. Thank you for participating in this fun hop.
I’m the same way. I don’t have a particular favorite. I love them all 😀
I liked the Hunger Games, always looking for new reads though.
