What a week!!! I don’t think that statement even begins to cover the week we’ve had. It all started Sunday night when my beautiful niece decided to arrive a month early!!! She wanted to surprise us all and boy did she ever 😀 I can’t wait to make another trip down to meet her and my new nephew who will be born tomorrow!!! Lots of babies this week in our family.
12 years ago I met this boy who refused to take his sunglasses on indoors and was a shameless flirt. A year later I saw the same boy again, but his corny jokes and relentless flirting won me over, plus I thought he was kinda cute 😉 2 years later I married that boy and on Wednesday we celebrated our 9th anniversary! I wouldn’t trade a single day I’ve had with you baby. Love you!!
That was the first half of our week. Then the second half took a nose dive. If you live in America and don’t live under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of the shooting in Chattanooga, TN. I was born and raised in a small town just to the north. On Thursday, I was on my social media when friends and family back home started posting all this crazy stuff about what was going on. Tuning into a local news station who has a live stream online I realized I really didn’t want to know. I’m devastated for the families of the four marines and one naval officer who lost their lives. It’s despicable and heartbreaking! And for those of us from the area it’s so surreal, at least to me it is. I never imagined anything like that happening in our community and it makes me heartsick. I pray for peace for those left behind and I’m so thankful for the police officers and first responders who worked that day! #NoogaStrong
Currently Reading
Little man and I revamped Children’s Corner this week and started reading the dragon of the month club by Iain Reading. It’s cute so far and it keeps little man’s attention, no easy feat!
I started The Assassin’s Blade yesterday and so far I’m loving it. Got it from the library because I was needing a Celaena fix. I don’t know what I’ll do after Queen of Shadows comes out! I’ll be all caught up. Love this series 😀

Christmas in July
With the year a little more than halfway over, I couldn’t resist bringing a little holiday cheer to the summer. Merry Mondays is a weekly feature that I started last December and I thought would be fun for July as well. Each week will have a different theme all centered around Christmas and the holiday season. This Week’s Book Fix
What are you reading this week?
Last week I felt quite accomplished with my reading. I read 5 books, all COYER eligible, now I just need to get to writing reviews! I’m behind on that (like about 8 books behind!). Does anyone else have that problem?!
This week should (crossing my fingers and knocking on wood) be a bit calmer. No storms to keep us locked indoors and our pool is now open again!! So I plan to spend some time out there. Little man and I have a couple of playdates lined up too so all in all it should be a fun week!
I plan to finish my library book and read at least two review books this week. Also I’d love to catch up on my reviews 😀 So we will see how that goes. What are your plans this week? Reading anything good?
Happy anniversary – I love the pics!!! And sorry to hear about the shooting! So sad.

Happy Anniversary! I too was shocked when I learned of the shooting and just couldn’t stand to watch the coverage. It breaks my heart and enrages me at the same time.
So many wonderful books this week and I spy one or two I’ll be checking out.

Happy anniversary!
I do have that problem too! The one with the reviews… I caught up a bit today, so now I’m only two books behind.

Wow sounds like you had a crazy week and that’s scary that shooting happened so close to where you live! Congrats with your 9th anniversary! That’s good news the pool is open again, I hope you can go to the pool again this week! I am behind a bit on reading, but I always write my reviews imemdiately, so at least I am up to date with that. I started a new book yesterday evenign, but I am afraid it’s going to be DNF, the writing style is crazy. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
